Key count and layout are related, but not interchangeable
Product names often use terms such as compact, 60%, tenkeyless or full size. The exact key count, regional layout and function-key behavior can vary. Ask for a layout image or drawing that matches the sample being quoted.
Confirm the key language and legends
Identify the language and character legends required for the destination market. Ask whether legends are printed, laser marked, double-shot or otherwise produced, and verify them on the sample.
Check switches, keycaps and connection
Record the switch type, keycap material, cable connector, wireless modes and supported operating systems for the exact model. If multiple configurations exist, request a clear version table.
Match features to the customer and channel
Gaming retail, office bundles and entry-level programs can have different priorities. Compare only the features relevant to the target buyer, such as compact size, number pad, backlighting, software or packaging.
Use a sample to confirm final details
Before production, compare the approved sample against the written specification and artwork. Keep the sample reference and change approvals together with the order record.
