Polling rate in practical terms
At 1,000 Hz, a mouse can report up to once every millisecond; at 8,000 Hz, the nominal USB interval is 0.125 ms. Higher rates can increase USB and system processing load and may affect battery life on wireless products. The delivered behavior also depends on the sensor, firmware, receiver, host and application. One current example is Logitech’s PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX product page, which lists an 8 kHz capability for that specific mouse; do not transfer one model’s claim to another product.
Shape and weight need hands-on evaluation
Grip style, hand size and preferred movement vary. Request side and top views, overall dimensions, weight with and without cable, and a sample that matches the shipping configuration. A very light mouse is not automatically the best fit for every buyer or game.
Check the whole configuration
- Sensor model and available DPI / CPI steps.
- Polling-rate options and which wired, receiver or wireless mode supports each one.
- Switch type and rated click life, if specified by the manufacturer.
- Battery capacity, charging method and tested runtime conditions for wireless versions.
- Software compatibility, onboard profiles, receiver inclusion and operating-system support.
Validate before scaling an order
Test tracking at the intended surface and settings, verify wireless stability in the target environment, and compare battery life using a documented lighting and polling configuration. Confirm that the manual, package and online product page all describe the same model variant.
